For our second day of filming we went to both Barbican as well as City Road Basin. Here are just some pictures we took to document the filming process. As you can see from these pictures we tried to incorporate as many different shot types as possible. Whilst there we ended up taking quite a few shots that weren’t planned, as we kept drawing inspiration from the things around us as we went on .
Here are a few shots we took while filming at City Road Basin
Me and Asilhan making sure that Nathan our artist is in the perfect position for the shot. We also used the LED camera top light while filming here so that when we came to editing the shots would not be too dark.
Here is a quick shot of our artist Nathan.
Asilhan trying to get the shot perfect by adjusting the tripods legs.
While filming we also kept discussing how to make the shot better, you can see that me standing in a certain position and asking Ethel (who is behind the camera) how it looks from her perspective
Nathan trying out how the lighting effects our shots.
Ethel filming a shot.
A close up of Ethel making sure the shot is looking good by concentrating on Nathans singing/movements.
Here I am giving his opinion on another different shot.
Me and Asilhan checking out how the shot is looking.
A long shot of us filming Nathan going down stairs which we could use in our video to show his journey to the party.
After seeing lights being reflected onto the canal we decided we should take a shot of Nathan singing infront of it so that people can see the reflections which look good.
Unfortunately the shot did not turn out as good as we hoped for but we are still happy that we tried to see if the shot works or not.
We then started to take more close-ups of our artists face because in music videos we have to show the artists in different shots including close-ups.
I'm adjusting the camera top light to make sure the shot looks as much effective as possible.
Us looking back at a few clips we took to make sure they are coming out good.
Me and Asilhan going on a bridge to get a high angle/ establishing shot.
Here was a shot taken of Nathan while he was performing.
We saw fireworks going off so we decided to take pictures of them incase we decide to use them, unfortunately they didn't come out good.
Here is a shot of Ethel and I looking back over a shot we took making sure it looks good.
Heres a shot of me trying out how an establishing shot will look like of City Road Basin while Asilhan is holding an umbrella over the camera making sure it does not get wet/damaged (Risk assessment).
Here is a shot of us finishing filming at City Road Basin and now getting ready to go to Barbican. Might I add, at this point it was absolutely freezing; but we did try our best to smile for the camera :D!
