Three videos that have inspired us...

Planning for music video

Before me and my group came to a clear decision of the concept of our video, we watched other music vidoes from Youtube to gain some inspiration and some ideas from them. Although these videos below are of a different genre to ours, they still gave us good ideas to incorporate into our own.

VIDEO #1

WIZ KHALIFA- "IN THE CUT"

This video's concept is basically people at a party having a good time and this concept is similar to ours, as we will be showing shots of the Artist (Nathan) having flashbacks of the good time he had the night before with his male friends.

The main ideas we got from this video is the EDITING used. Throughout the whole video a lot of slow motion is used which I think makes the video look very good. I think slow motion is a good editing technique to use when making a music video showing a party as you really get to see the people enjoying themselves but in slow motion, which allows you to see their every bit of happy movement.

I have created a collage below, showing some screen shot I have taken from the video. I think we will use similar shots to these in our own video.

LIL TWIST- "NEW MONEY"

  

 In this video, its the mis-en-scene that they used that has inspired us....

VIDEO #3

J-KWON- "TIPSY"

In this video, the second scene shows the artist putting on his clothes, getting ready for the party. Similarly, In our video we are going to show Nathan (the artist) waking up from the house in which he was partying in the night before, putting on his jacket and leaving. The way this scene was edited inspired us too. They used jumpcuts to fasten up the pace of him putting on his clothes which looks really good and impressive. We will use this is in our video.
