Analyse 3 music videos that have influenced you.
J-Kwon - Tipsy
The first music video I have chosen to state is J-Kwon - Tipsy. As the song title connotes, the song is about a house party and the individuals in the party getting tipsy. A stimulus to our own music video as we will be trying to replicate an authentic party scene which will be delivered with many mid shots and close ups to make the viewers feel involved in the party, very similar to Calvin Harris Flashback and his POV shots. The most significant trait to this video is this jump cuts used in the beginning of the music video where we speed up the process of rapper J-Kwon putting on his clothes, something we will certainly be doing.
Eliza doolittle - Mr Medicine
Another stimulus includes Eliza Doolittle - Mr Medicine. The serenity of the calm song really shows the effect I wish to achieve whilst shooting the scenes coming from the house party and the night out where there is rarely anything going on in the streets only the bright lights enhanced by the darkness. I also adore the close ups with her singing very casually, I think this will rub off nicely on our own piece of work as we're going for the lazy, tired feel you get after you have been drinking. Another interesting trait that links with our own piece of work is the fact that it is shot in one of our locations - Barbican/Moorgate/Liverpool Street.
Pharrell - Frontin
The third song that inspired the planning of our music video is Pharrell - Frontin. Where the music video is a chilled out, mellow drink up for friends. Combining the two above atmospheres from the songs; a lively party and a serene environment equalling to a laid back song. The feature that I like in this music video which I wish to incorporate into my own music video is the excessive visuals of the prop, the red party cups which connote simply - a party.
