Planning for Music Video: More influence (Mise-en-scene)

After looking more in depth into our editing influences I have also looked into our mise-en-scene ideas more.
I have found an effect I have seen in videos where the background is most always/most of the time white making you think of serenity, faithful and pureness but then you see the performers performing in dark coloured clothes with sometimes lyrics that are not necessarily about being a being a good/faithful person.

Here is a video that explains what I am talking about: You Me at Six – If I Were in Your Shoes

As you can see in the video the background is pure white with the band in darker coloured clothing.

There are many more videos in all different genres with this concept...

Beyonce - Put a ring on it (R&B/Pop)

Here is a shot from the video

Here is the full video of the song

Black Veil Brides – Knives and Pens (Glam Metal/Hard rock)

Here is one of the shots from the video

Here is the full video of the song, the song has the band performing in two different places, one place is the white room with them always changing between white and black clothes.
The second place is on a stage in the dark.

Kelly Rowland – Lay it on me (R&B/Pop)

Here is a shot from the video

Here is the full video showing that although the white background is not always used there are still shots where it is used.

I believe if we use this connect in parts of our video it will make it look better as viewers will be thinking the song/video is about being a pure/clean person when we will also include clips of partying and drink which will contract with each other.
