Planning for music video
Before going out to film, we know that we have to plan about the types of shots we want, and the different types of editing we want to include in our video. We have started planning this already. Below is a short clip from the film Adulthood, which shows one of the types of editing we want to use in our video.
We feel that this editing is really interesting, however it can be tricky to film. We can do this editing by actually getting Nathan (the artist) to stand in the location, really still for abot 30 minutes, and in editing, we can speed it up. Or, we could do it using the green screen.
We've decided we won't use the green screen, as if its not used professionally, it can look really bad. So if we want to use this editing for sure, Nathan has to make sre he stands really really still so that it doesnt look silly !
We have also discussed using two or four-frame editing, like in the music video 'Kickstarts' by Example.
If we actually decide to use such shots, we have to make sure we film acurately. For example, in the two frame shot, we have to make sure that in each shot, the object or person is on the very left or right hand corner of the frame, so that when we edit it the position will be accurate.
